Last night during the PM's Stampede BBQ I was at the vehicle gate to Heritage Park checking in the media and any other vehicles that were permitted to drive down to the event when this young girl wearing a PETA shirt walked up to me.
"Is the Prime Minister coming through here?" she asked. "I don't know, I'm just here to check in the media," I replied (I really did know, but I wasn't going to tell her). "Are you here to protest?" I asked. "Yes," she replied, and then wandered off around the corner.
This exchange took place right beside the Heritage Park Security office with a big "Security" sign on the wall beside me. So when the head of security came out to chit chat with me I mentioned to him there was a protester around the corner waiting for the PM. He asked her to leave as the park is private property and that she was more than welcome to stand down at the entrance to the park on 14th street. She politely packed up her seal costume and left.
I must say that she was quite possibly the most polite protester I've ever encountered. And I kind of hope she got to put on her costume and hold up her "stop the slaughter" sign for the PM. Not because I agree with her message, I don't, but because I believe in free speech. And like I said.... she was so damn polite (not to mention cute).

G'wan, why don't you admit it was the seal costume that did it. Can't say as I blame you, rubber duck suits do it for me. lol
Ah, today's youth lack a sense of direction and purpose. Imagine what could be accomplished if people put their efforts into meaningful things.

LOL... I never actually got to see her in the seal costume. She was carrying it in a bag. What did it for me was the way her chest filled out her tshirt. :o

You've got to at least give her credit for believing in something and actively working for what she believes in. At least she's not sitting at home on her parents sofa, stoned, playing XBox.
